What is a VMP?
Choose a profiling option, understand its limits and know what to check before you begin.
A questionnaire to start a coaching conversation
VMP stands for Values & Mindset Profile; PMP stands for Performance Mindset Profile. The questionnaires organise reflection on responses to pressure. A score or pattern is a prompt to explore, not a verdict about a person.
Choose the right starting point
- Self-serve sport Profile: an online questionnaire and written report, with an optional debrief. Choose cricket, AFL, netball, basketball or hockey.
- Practitioner-led sport profiling: a questionnaire chosen for the sport, age and coaching context, followed by discussion with a practitioner.
- PMP-Frontline: the product currently offered for frontline and defence contexts. It includes profession-specific scenarios. Managers should check that those scenarios fit their role before buying.
These are different questionnaires, not interchangeable lengths of one test. Labels and item banks vary by version. Self-serve cricket uses Tactical Orientation; practitioner cricket uses Team Orientation.
What you receive
The report presents scores, themes and reflection questions appropriate to the chosen product. Practitioner-led reports are intended to be discussed with a coach. Review the product page for the included debrief, price and delivery details before purchasing.
Understand the limits
The instruments are practitioner-built and informed by psychological frameworks. They have not been independently psychometrically validated. They do not establish honesty, diagnose a condition or predict performance. Response-style indicators and pattern summaries are topics for discussion, not lie detection or selection tools.
For young people, families and schools
Under-18s must meet the supervision and consent requirements in the terms. Pathway products require assignment by a recognised practitioner and appropriate consent from the young person and parent or guardian. Ask Rob which approach fits before purchasing if unsure.
Before you begin
Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and choose the product that matches your context. Take time over the questions. Discuss retaking or comparing versions with your practitioner rather than treating scores from different instruments as directly interchangeable.
